Pregnancy does a lot of strange things to your body. You might not have realized until you had a baby that it would not only affect your stomach and core shape, but also the shape of your breasts after your baby is born and you are not breastfeeding. Perhaps all women do not experience it, but some women likely feel like their breasts are down to nothing after breastfeeding. This happens and can change after some time, but they may not ever look the way they did before. A breast augmentation may be just what you need to get the fullness back.
If you are thinking of having a breast augmentation, then you might also consider having a lift with this. Fullness is likely one problem you see after you are done breastfeeding, and sagging may be another. A lift will help with this.
With a breast augmentation, you will get implants in the size you want to increase your current size to. It will likely depend on how much volume you have lost whether you get one size or another of implants. In order to decide on the size, you might want to ask your surgeon if he or she has anything to help you figure out what size would be best for you. They might even have a virtual program to help you see what you will possibly look like after surgery.
You will also need to decide on whether you want silicone or saline implants. Both have their pros and cons. You will want to discuss all of the areas with your surgeon. Your surgeon may have their own preference, but they will likely do what you prefer to some degree.
Along with the implants is the concern of the placement of the implants. Silicone implants might be good in front of the breast muscle, whereas saline implants might be better behind because they might not appear as natural as the silicone. Some doctors say there are advantages of having the implant behind the muscle for future test diagnosis in the area, and some do not believe there is any problem with putting an implant in front of the muscle. You will just need to discuss this with your surgeon.
If you are not sure whether you want to have more children then you may want to discuss with your OB/Gyn what having a breast augmentation could mean for breastfeeding in the future and whether it will really have any affect on it at all.
Once you work out all of the details, hopefully you will be able to go forward with your surgery and have a body that is at least as shapely as it was before you had your babies. It is always nice to be able to feel confident after having a baby.
